Wind power: supporting Japan's future in both environmental and economic terms

Japan has declared that it will aim to become carbon neutral by 2050. Wind power is considered to be one of the important energy sources to achieve this goal. Promoting the introduction of wind power plants and improving their economic viability have been important issues for Japan for a long time, but I feel that the knowledge and methods for doing so are rarely discussed openly.

Accurate understanding of wind conditions is essential for wind power generation. We conduct detailed surveys of wind speed, wind direction, and the effects of topography to select the optimal installation location, thereby achieving efficient power generation.

In this seminar, we will discuss practical information for achieving efficient power generation, including trends in wind observation both on land and offshore, as well as the respective observation equipment and methods.

The three companies speaking at the event are Toyota Tsusho Corporation, Windpal Corporation, and Relatec Corporation.

We would like to introduce some comments from the presenting companies regarding the seminar.

Toyota Tsusho Corporation

We provide wind observation equipment (ZX LiDAR, SFC fuel cell) used in wind condition surveys for wind power generation projects.

In this seminar, we invited experts in each part of the equipment, observation, and simulation in onshore and offshore wind condition survey work to give explanations, not only about the equipment we handle, but also about the equipment, observation, and simulation in onshore and offshore wind condition survey work. As new guidelines and observation methods are being introduced for business evaluation and certification, we will introduce them with examples of solutions such as observation/simulation in complex terrain and floating lidar that are currently available in Japan.

We hope to contribute to your daily project development in order to promote the future adoption of wind power generation, so please feel free to join us.

Rera Tech Inc.

We provide consulting services specializing in wind condition surveys for wind power generation. Our unique feature is that we can provide wind condition observation, simulation, and analysis in a seamless manner, using our technical capabilities based on the research results of Kobe University.

In this seminar, we will introduce the "NEDO Offshore Wind Observation Guidebook" Based on this, we will explain the observation method of offshore wind conditions using LIDAR equipment (measuring turbulence intensity, etc.) and the outlook for these conditions. We believe this information will be very useful for those who use the guidebook and those who are interested in offshore wind condition surveys.

We will also share the knowledge necessary for planning and implementing offshore wind power projects, so we hope that anyone who wants to learn about the latest information and technologies related to wind power will join us.

Windpal Co., Ltd.

We are a company specializing in offshore wind power and providing established project management solutions. We achieve this by leveraging the knowledge of European companies with proven technology and experience, and matching them with Japanese companies.

This seminar will focus on the "Floating Lidar" for wind observation. This system, which is gradually being adopted in Japan, is designed to measure turbulence intensity and is expected to be useful for streamlining offshore wind observation, transitioning to floating systems, and other future wind surveys.

We hope to raise awareness of its existence and provide information that will be useful in the development of offshore wind power generation.

Online seminar application

There will be a Q&A session with the speakers in the second half of the seminar, so please take advantage of this opportunity. We look forward to seeing you there.
