Now in its first year since its founding, Rera Tech Inc. is looking for new colleagues to work with. What kind of person is suitable to work at Rera Tech Inc., and what kind of work can you do if you join the company? We asked members to talk about the wind power industry and their work at Rera Tech Inc. This is the second part of a two-part series.(Click here for the first part)
Data scientists can fully utilize their talents"Analysis and Simulation"
-What type of jobs are Rera Tech Inc. particularly looking for?
Misaki We are looking for technical positions, but specifically, we are looking for researchers and developers in the fields of analysis and simulation. We would be happy if data scientists who are interested in wind surveys and the global environment would come to Relatec.
Although the skills required for analysis and simulation differ greatly depending on the field, wind condition surveys use a wide range of analytical methods. Machine learning and AI technology and knowledge can be utilized, and classical academic fields such as fluid mechanics are also necessary.
At present, there are set methods, but as the wind power industry as a whole is constantly being updated, it is necessary to develop analyses and simulations accordingly. There is a strong research and development element and a lot of discretion, so I think this job is suitable for people who like to think and create things on their own and for people who want to make use of their past experience.

Wind consultants who bridge the gap between academia and industry
KonagayaRera Tech Inc. not only conducts wind condition surveys, but also acts as a consultant. Wind power generation is a huge business that involves multiple research fields and players, such as not only power generation companies but also wind turbine manufacturers, research institutes, local governments, the country, and legal certification bodies, so the role of consultants who connect them is very important.
Offshore power generation in particular is a large-scale project, involving over 100 billion yen, and cannot be realized by a single player alone. Relatec utilizes its meteorological knowledge and ICT technology to connect each player.

--What do you find interesting about consulting work?
Konagaya This is different for each person, but for me, I'm attracted to the idea of constantly continuing to learn. The wind power market is changing rapidly, and the cutting-edge technology today is expected to be different in five years' time. If we don't continue to update ourselves accordingly, we won't be able to propose the best solutions. Study, put into practice, and accumulate that experience within yourself, making it an asset. I think the most interesting thing about this job is being able to grow myself and the company in this way.
--What kind of person is suitable for this job?
Konagaya Consultants are not only involved in technological development, but also in understanding customer needs and communicating with others. Therefore, I think that people who can balance technology and communication are suited to this job. Since we will be dealing with clients not only in Japan but also overseas, I think that people with English skills will also be able to play an active role.
A free corporate culture that allows employees to maximize their capabilities
--What is the atmosphere like at the company?
Takamatsu People have a variety of working styles depending on their lifestyles and the nature of their work. Some people are mostly in the office, while others combine working from home and going to the office. In fact, I have never been to the office and have always worked from home.
Misaki Analysis and simulation work can also be done with a computer, so working from home is possible. My way of working is that I usually work from home in the morning and come to the office in the afternoon. Or, sometimes I work from home for the whole day. When I come to the office after a long time, there are souvenirs that the members bought on their business trips piled up on my desk. We hold regular meetings online, but when I come to the office, I chat with the members who happen to be with me about any points of concern about work.
--It feels free and flat.
Konagaya That's right. Basically, I want to create an environment where we can easily exchange opinions on a flat basis, and I think that's actually what's happening. Especially when it comes to technical aspects, each of us has our own area of expertise, so we often each take the lead and move things forward.
Misaki This may be because I am a founding member, but I feel that I have a lot of discretion in my work. I can control my own working style. We aimed to create an environment where each person could demonstrate their expertise in a project and perform at a high level, and that's how we got to where we are now.
Konagaya Since we are a company that has only been in business for a year, we can change the structure and structure of the company through discussions with everyone. The image is that each employee is creating Relatec. In principle, side jobs are okay, and I think that people who can find what they want to do and act independently are suitable.
--Finally, please give us a message for the applicants.
Konagaya Rera Tech Inc.'s mission is to "design the future of energy and society with weather and ICT." We are currently working on wind power generation, but there are other things we can do with weather and ICT. For example, our members have talked about wanting to get involved in the fields of agriculture and fishing. We would be happy if someone who can help us find the business we want to work on in the future would come.
