Know the current power generation in Europe (Part 1)

"Windeurope Technology Workshop 2021" Participation Report

The workshop "Windeurope", which promotes the use of wind power in Europe, is held once a year.Windeurope Technology Workshop

What is the topic and discussion in Europe, which is at the forefront of wind power? The member of the Relatech who participated in the workshop reports the event twice.

The trend of the style survey has changed

――What kind of event is this workshop?

Inner mountainThis event is derived from "Windeurope" from a wind -powered academic society and exhibitions held in Europe. The Europeans and other countries around the world, such as the world, will gather and discuss it together to discuss.

For example, we will discuss or make a special discussion or presentation on the application aspects for actually using wind power. There is a mood that all participants want to deepen their understanding, not the end of the announcement.

In the end of the sea, European technology is ahead, and you can get a lot of information that you can not get in Japan. By knowing what is being done in Europe now, I participated in a workshop to use it for services provided in Japan.

2021 was a corona, so it was held online, but some of the members of Relatech went to Europe in the past.

――It's a place where you can feel the European technology directly.

HaseI agree. In addition, you can see the changing trends of the wind situation survey. For example, when I participated about five years ago, there were so many announcements about floating riders, but this time it was hardly a hot topic.

Floating rider
A device in which a vertical doppler rider is installed in the floating structure on the off -and -rin, and the wind in the sky is measured with a laser.

This suggests that floating riders have some mature technology in Europe.

On the other hand, in Japan, floating riders are still in the verification stage before practical use. We are currently investigating how much accuracy can be verified in the waters of Japan, and can the turbulent strength measure well with the floating rider? In that sense, I felt the difference in the progress of the market again.

Increase accuracy by using three scanning riders

MitoOne of the announcements I paid attention to in this workshop is a verification method of placing three scanning riders that are usually measured with one unit.

A device that can observe the atmosphere by irradiating a laser beam and receiving backward scattering with floating particles in the atmosphere. It is installed along the coast, and a laser can be measured by emitting laser toward the sea.

The scanning rider irradiates the laser while shaking the neck, and measures the air condition of the laser.

However, one scanning rider alone cannot measure the vertical direction of the laser's gaze direction (laser irradiation direction), so the measurement accuracy of the "wind disturbance" required for the windmill design will be reduced. I know.

The method developed to solve this problem is "Dual Scanning Rider".

Dual Scanning Rider
By placing two scanning riders and irradiating the same point from another point, the accurate wind speed, wind direction, and wind disturbance of the measurement area can be measured.

It is also a technology that has recently been adopted in Japan. However, two units cannot capture the vertical wind. By increasing it to three, the wind in the three -dimensional direction can be measured. The presentation was very interesting, with the verification of the angle of these three lasers and its measurement accuracy.

HaseRegarding the use of three scanning riders, attempts on land were verified. Basically, scanning riders are an observation device made assuming offshore measurement, but there was an announcement that proposed the benefits of using it on land.

For example, when observing the wind situation such as on the mountains, it is difficult to install a mast or vertical rider in the mountains. But if you are a scanning rider, you can skip the laser from afar and measure it.

If three units can be measured, it can be used for the direction of the vertical component, so it can be accurately measured on complex terrain like Japan. I was surprised to hear the announcement because it was a method that was not yet discussed in Japan.

Focus on the evolution of analysis and simulation technology that corrects rider

――What kind of announcements have you announced about the simulation?

MitoThere was an announcement that examined how to correct the vertical rider.

The laser is irradiated in the sky and the wind crosses the altitude horizontal surface.

A vertical rider is a remote sensing device that irradiates a laser over the sky to measure the wind.

The principle is that the target horizontal wind blows uniformly. When observing with a vertical rider at a point where the terrain is complicated, such as a mountainous area, it is difficult to assume the uniformity of the horizontal direction because the wind blows along the terrain, and the measurement accuracy is reduced. To do.

In the presentation, a correction method using simulation was introduced for such issues.

In addition, the announcement of simulation to evaluate the amount of power generation was also enriched. It is important to estimate the amount of power generation in wind power generation. It is necessary to know exactly the amount of power generation, not only when creating a new power plant, but also to efficiently operate the already built power plants.

Verification of such correction technology and simulation of power generation have not yet been performed in Japan. I think it is a challenge in the future.

――Why is not done in Japan?

SeeingIn order to conduct simulation development research, it requires actual data, but there is no accumulation of data in Japan. In that sense, I think that in Europe, where wind power is being practical, it is easy to develop.
